Things to know for Fall 2021

08/29/2021

It was great to see so many new faces at the Celebration of Mines!  Many thanks to Evolene and Margaret from Boulder Aikikai, and Morgan and Kevin from Denver Aikikai for coming to demonstrate at the event!

The schedule for the semester has been posted to the main page.  Note that while we will try to have most of our classes in McNeil in the Student Rec Center, we sometimes lose the space unexpectedly.  If you do not see us there, check on the IM fields just west of the SRC, as we are probably there.  Plan C is the quad in front of the Library.  First class is this Sunday (8/29) in McNeil if it is free.  Monday class is on the IM fields if they are free.

A note on Monday classes:  I am soon shifting my work schedule, and technically I do not finish work until 5pm.  Our president Andrew will lead warmups, but I will try to find a way to miss as little class as possible.  Please help Andrew to get the space set up in McNeil.  Also, we may have to finish class a few minutes before 6 to make sure that the space is ready for the next group.

A final note: Edgar Johansson, the head of Denver Aikikai has generously offered to let CSMAC students join classes at his dojo for free!  We may plan a Saturday or two this semester to come over as a group.  There is also going to be a mini-workshop with some visiting instructors on Saturday 9/11.  This will be a great opportunity for students to see a variety of teaching styles, for a modest fee.

Hope to see you all soon!
